What this demo processes

The demo runs entirely in your browser. It sends no data to us or to anyone else, loads no content from other servers and sets no cookies. Its fonts and pictures are part of the demo.

Hosting

This website is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. All data are stored in accordance with European data protection laws.

Storage in your browser

In your browser's localStorage, this website stores three values, the same in both views: theme, language and the results of the traps you answered. Three more are stored separately for the playful and the business view: Jack's tricks, motion and time limit.

Until you close the tab, this website also stores two values in sessionStorage. One is whether Jack already walked across the screen, and the other is which outcomes of the demo you reached.

The legal basis is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG: this website needs the storage to work as you set it up.

These values stay in your browser. You can delete them at any time by clearing the site data for this page in your browser.

What you type into the traps

Some of Jack's tricks are traps with fields, for example for a password or a code. This website does not read, store or send what you type there, and it clears the fields when you answer.

The demo

The demo "Is my device hacked?" shows details that your browser gives every website: browser, operating system, time zone, time and screen size. It reads them in your browser only to show them, and neither stores nor sends them. "Share" at the end hands the address of the demo to the share menu of your device or copies it, and sends nothing to us.

Your rights

Within the applicable law, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing, and where applicable a right to have this data corrected or deleted (Art. 15 to 17 GDPR). You also have the right to ask for the processing to be restricted (Art. 18 GDPR), to receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You can contact the controller named above about this at any time.

If the GDPR is breached, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state where you usually live, where you work or where the suspected breach took place.
